Detailed information
Drive to Issyk-Kul lake with a stop at the Burana tower (11th century). The Burana Tower and some other historical buildings and ruins are what are left of the city of Balasagun, which was the capital of the Karakhanid State (X-XII centuries), with a total area of 30 square meters. km Lake Issyk-Kul is the pearl of Tien Shan, the largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. The Issyk-Kul valley is replete with healing hot mineral springs and mud. The tectonic Son-Kul lake is located in the South-West of Issyk-Kul, at an altitude of 3000 m. The total area of the lake is 287 sq. Km. Here you can often see wild yaks and many marmots, on the coast of the lake you can go horse riding and hiking. Among the monuments of medieval architecture of Central Asia there is nothing like the stone fortress of Tash-Rabat, hidden in a remote gorge, at an altitude of 3200 meters surrounded by snowy peaks and inaccessible ridges of the Central Tien Shan, not far from the border of Kyrgyzstan and China.
